In-Door Besta Speakers
Materials: 2x Besta frames and doors, 2x Yamaha in-wall speakers, jigsaw, t-square
Description: 1 - Pinpoint center of Besta door using t-square and pencil.
(All measurements were made on the back of door to prevent unwanted marks on glossy front.)
2 - Use the circle template that came with the in-wall speakers to stencil out cutting area.
3 - Use jigsaw to cut door.
4 - Install speaker in door.

Awesome work (but not sure about the center channel).
ReplyDeleteProfessional job and we'll executed but a high end soundbar would have worked just as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the complements, people :)
ReplyDeletewhen you cut the hole on the door, did the glossy side suffer?
ReplyDeleteHow did it perform on the cut?
1. Used the circle template to stencil out cutting area with a pencil.
Delete2. Pre drilled a 1" hole in the center of the cutting area.
3. With a jigsaw, started cutting from the hole then moved outwards.
4. Carefully cut along the pencil mark.
The glossy side didn't suffer at all. A solid jigsaw with a "curve cut" blade will give you a clean cut.
All cutting took place on the back side of the door. (non-glossy side)
